Meg is the epitome of what I love and why I seek out independent designers. Every detail is authentically Meg – an artful blend of her clothing designs, her staff of trained stylists, the design of her boutiques, and her community work.
Her design philosophy since day one has been to focus on the real-life needs and bodies of women. Her aesthetic of feminine yet clean, modern and effortless silhouettes is what Meg devotees declare their daily source of confidence.
Her mission is to empower women and offer an intimate experience while in the store. It’s the first thing that really stood out to me when I started shopping at her boutiques. The “stylists” ask me smart questions about my style and what I like/don’t like. From there they help me select pieces, show me different ways to wear them… and the best thing of all, whip out their pins and tailor each piece for a perfect fit.
The other side of her brand is to impact our communities. Her “made in your neighborhood for women by women” tagline represents their vow to support the communities that surround the boutiques through local manufacturing, stocking women-owned accessory brands, and fundraising for local causes.
Over the last 25 years, Meg has blossomed into 3 Manhattan boutiques – East Village, West Village and Upper East Side, 2 Brooklyn boutiques – Williamsburg and Boerum Hill, 1 Toronto boutique, and an online shop Megshops.
